Custom jewelry manufacturer for Chicago brands
Chicago buyers tend to be practical. The city has long been a centre for wholesale, merchandising and retail headquarters, and the Merchandise Mart remains a landmark for showrooms and buyers. Jewelers Row on Wabash Avenue has served bridal and fine-jewelry customers for generations. The Chicago brands and buyers who contact us usually want three things in writing: the minimum, the timeline and how quality will be checked.
The Accessory Consultant is a jewelry manufacturer with a factory in Mumbai, India. We do not have a Chicago office. Our team serves Chicago and Midwest clients remotely and ships production to your address.
The short answers Chicago buyers ask for
- Minimum: MOQ from 50 units per design.
- Timeline: about 18 days from CAD to delivery for a typical program. International shipping to Chicago is separate and confirmed once the method is known.
- Confidentiality: NDAs offered for private label and OEM programs.
- Quality reference: every production piece is checked against a physical sample you have approved.
Chicago buyer types
Regional retailers and department-store buyers
Retail buyers headquartered in Chicago often need a private label range that can sit across many stores. What matters is repeatability: the hundredth piece has to match the first. Our private label manufacturing guide explains how approved samples keep runs consistent.
Wholesalers and distributors
Midwest wholesalers supplying gift shops, boutiques and regional chains want a catalogue they can reorder. We keep approved samples as the reference so reorders match earlier batches.
Jewelers Row and bridal
Bridal jewelers want engagement rings, bands and anniversary pieces built to a CAD or sketch, in solid gold with natural or lab-grown diamonds. Our boutique bridal case study shows how this works.
Midwest D2C founders
Chicago also has a growing D2C scene, often founders who started on Etsy or Instagram and are moving to their own manufacturing. Our low MOQ guide for US startups is written for them.
How remote production works from Chicago
Chicago is about ten and a half to eleven and a half hours behind Mumbai. In practice, most clients send comments at the end of their day and see updated CAD or answers the next morning.
Step one, quote. Send what you have: sketches, photos, a spec sheet or CAD. Include quantities per design, material and the delivery address. Our RFQ guide lists what to include.
Step two, NDA and CAD. For private label and OEM work we sign an NDA before design files are shared, then build 3D models for review.
Step three, sample. A physical sample ships to you in Chicago. Check it against your spec: weight, finish, clasp, stone setting.
Step four, production and QC. Pieces are made and checked against the approved sample.
Step five, shipping. Finished goods are packed and shipped to your Chicago warehouse, store or distribution centre.
Why not just source domestically?
Many Chicago buyers do both. Domestic workshops are useful for repairs and rush one-offs. A dedicated export factory is built for running the same design at volume to one standard, with a low starting minimum. If you are comparing, ask every supplier the same questions: MOQ, CAD-to-delivery time, how samples are approved and whether they sign an NDA.
