Custom jewelry manufacturer for Washington DC brands

Washington, DC buys jewelry for reasons most cities do not. Museum and cultural-institution shops sell pieces inspired by their collections. Associations, nonprofits and agencies order pins, cufflinks and pendants for members and staff. Embassies and international organisations bring buyers with global tastes, and Georgetown and the U Street corridor support independent boutiques and designers. A lot of DC jewelry is commissioned rather than simply bought.

The Accessory Consultant is a custom jewelry manufacturer with its factory in Mumbai, India. We do not have a Washington office. Our team serves DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia clients remotely.

Commissioned work: what to put in the brief

Institutional and gifting orders tend to have more stakeholders and stricter sign-off. A clear brief saves rounds of revision:

  • Purpose. Retail shop product, member gift, award, staff recognition or event giveaway.
  • Design source. Artwork, a logo, an object from a collection, or a sketch. Confirm you have rights to use it.
  • Quantity per design. MOQ starts from 50 units per design.
  • Material. Sterling silver, gold vermeil, gold plated, stainless steel or solid gold.
  • Approval chain. Who signs off on CAD and sample. We send renders and a physical sample so every approver sees the real thing.
  • Delivery date. If the order is for a gala, conference or anniversary, name the date.

Our RFQ guide covers each item in more detail.

Museum-shop and cultural reproductions

Museum stores often want jewelry that echoes an object in their collection: a pattern, a motif or a shape. We translate the reference into CAD, you check proportions and detail against the original, and the approved physical sample becomes the production standard. Stones can be semi-precious or artificial where a lower retail price matters.

Confidentiality for official and unreleased designs

Some DC programs involve designs that should not circulate before an event or launch. NDAs are offered for private label and OEM programs and are signed before files change hands.

Boutiques and independent designers

Not everything in DC is institutional. Independent designers and boutique owners use us like brands anywhere: small capsules at a low minimum, reorders against an approved sample. See our private label guide.
