Scaling a handmade line without losing its character
Makers worry that production will flatten what made their work special. Here is how we approach a handmade design:
- Start from your piece. Send a finished original. We build CAD that captures its shape, texture and proportions.
- Compare side by side. You receive a physical sample to put next to your original.
- Approve or revise. Production only begins once the sample feels like yours.
- Keep it small. MOQ starts from 50 units per design, so you can move one bestseller into production while keeping one-of-a-kind work at your bench.
Organic textures, hammered finishes and irregular forms can all be modelled, but some take more CAD iterations. Tell us which details matter most.
Talking honestly about sourcing
Portland customers ask hard questions about materials and origin. Our advice is to only make claims you can document. Pieces we manufacture are made in India. Material and stone options are confirmed per project, and if a specific sourcing claim matters to your marketing, raise it in your brief so we can discuss what can and cannot be documented. We do not make claims on this page about certifications.
Materials Oregon brands use
Sterling silver and gold filled are common for everyday pieces; solid gold for heirloom work; lab-grown diamonds and semi-precious stones for stones.
The practical bits
Typical CAD-to-delivery is about 18 days. International shipping to Portland is separate and confirmed once the method is known. NDAs are offered for private label and OEM programs. Portland is on Pacific time, twelve and a half to thirteen and a half hours behind Mumbai, so feedback you send in the afternoon is usually answered by your next morning.
Who we suit and who we do not
We suit makers ready to produce at least 50 units of a design and who want consistency across those units. If every piece you sell is unique, keep making it yourself.
