Custom jewelry manufacturer for San Francisco brands
Bay Area jewelry brands often look more like startups than traditional jewelers. Founders here run lean teams, test products with small batches, read their conversion data closely and want suppliers who reply quickly and document everything. Many also care about how pieces are made: recycled metals, lab-grown diamonds and fewer wasted samples come up often in San Francisco conversations.
The Accessory Consultant is a custom jewelry manufacturer with a factory in Mumbai, India. We do not have a San Francisco or Bay Area office. Our team serves Bay Area clients remotely, which suits how most of them already work.
Treat your first order like an experiment
The San Francisco instinct to test before scaling fits jewelry well. With MOQ from 50 units per design, you can launch a handful of styles, see what sells and reorder the winners against the same approved sample. That keeps cash out of slow stock. Our low MOQ jewelry manufacturer guide shows how to size a first order.
A simple way to structure it:
- Pick three to eight styles you believe in.
- Order the minimum on each.
- Watch sell-through and reviews.
- Reorder bestsellers; retire or revise the rest in CAD.
Lab-grown diamonds and material choices
Lab-grown diamonds are popular with Bay Area brands that want diamond jewelry with a different sourcing story. We work with lab-grown diamonds as well as natural diamonds. For metals, Bay Area D2C brands commonly ask about sterling silver, gold vermeil and solid gold. If recycled metal or specific sourcing matters to your brand, raise it in your brief and we will tell you what we can confirm for your program. We do not make sustainability claims we cannot document, and we suggest you hold any supplier to the same standard.
Async by default
Mumbai is twelve and a half to thirteen and a half hours ahead of San Francisco, which makes working together close to a 24-hour cycle. You review CAD in the afternoon, send comments, and updated renders are often waiting the next morning. We keep decisions in writing: briefs, CAD revisions, sample feedback and approvals, so there is a clear record of what was agreed.
The production path
- Brief and NDA. Send sketches, references or CAD. For private label and OEM programs we sign an NDA before design files are shared.
- CAD. 3D models and renders for review.
- Sample. A physical sample ships to you in the Bay Area for approval.
- Production. Pieces are manufactured and checked against the sample.
- Delivery. Goods are packed and shipped to your San Francisco address or 3PL.
Typical CAD-to-delivery is about 18 days. International shipping to San Francisco is separate and is confirmed once we know the destination and method.
For product-minded founders
If you think in product roadmaps, our jewelry product development guide breaks down concept, CAD, sampling, materials and QC as distinct stages. Our jewelry CAD manufacturing guide goes deeper on the CAD step, and the D2C brands guide covers planning a direct-to-consumer line.
