Custom jewelry manufacturer for Providence brands

For much of the twentieth century, Providence and the surrounding Rhode Island towns were the centre of American costume jewelry manufacturing. The city's Jewelry District is named for the factories that once filled it, and generations of Rhode Islanders worked in plating, stamping, casting and findings. Much of that production has since moved overseas, but the knowledge stayed: Providence still has designers, product developers and family companies who understand jewelry manufacturing in detail, plus a design-school community that keeps producing new founders.

The Accessory Consultant is a custom jewelry manufacturer with a factory in Mumbai, India. We do not have a Rhode Island office. Our team serves Providence clients remotely.

Working with people who know the trade

Providence clients often know more about production than most buyers. They ask about tooling, findings, casting versus stamping, and finish. We welcome that. Send technical drawings, existing CAD or a sample from a previous supplier and we will confirm what we can match in CAD and on a physical sample. Where we cannot match something, we will say so.

Legacy designs, new production

Some Rhode Island family companies own archives of designs from decades of manufacturing. Reissuing a heritage design is a common project:

  1. Send the original piece or archive drawings.
  2. We build CAD, adjusting for modern materials and wear.
  3. You approve a physical sample against the original.
  4. We produce from 50 units per design.

NDAs are offered for private label and OEM programs, protecting archive designs that have never been publicly released.

Material choices

Costume jewelry traditionally used plated base metals. Our gold plated pieces can be made on base metals such as brass, sterling silver or copper; we confirm options per project. For higher-value lines we also produce in gold vermeil, gold filled, sterling silver and solid gold. See our fashion jewelry manufacturer page and gold plated page.

Design-school founders

Students and graduates launching brands often have strong design but no production experience. Our jewelry CAD guide explains how a sketch becomes a production-ready model, and our low MOQ guide covers small first runs.

Timing and contact

Typical CAD-to-delivery is about 18 days. International shipping to Providence is separate and confirmed once the method is known. Providence is on Eastern time, nine and a half to ten and a half hours behind Mumbai.
